That's why we tapped into HUM Nutrition's team of experts to discuss a lesser-known area of nutrition: vitamins and supplements.

Let’s start at the very beginning: Do supplements really work?
The supplement world is a self-regulated industry meaning companies are responsible to meet the standards outlined by the FDA. While the FDA does not approve supplements, they can assess the company for compliance with the outlined standards. To find a high quality supplement its important to find companies that are holding themselves to high standards of practice. At HUM we work with qualified vendors, perform audits on all the vendors and their facilities, test all ingredients for contaminants, test final product composition to ensure what is on the label is in the actual product and run stability testing. These are just some of the processes we have in place to ensure our supplements are of the highest quality. What’s the best way to get started with supplements?
Since supplements are not medications, it typically takes a little longer to see results from supplement. For most products that have been studied at HUM nutrition it can take 4-6 weeks to see results. The most important part of taking supplements are to ensure you get in the habit and routine of it. The more consistently you can take them, the better results you can have. We typically recommend starting with 3 different supplements to take daily.
How do you know which supplements to take?
